About Me/Bio
Biography
I have won many prizes/awards in the above exhibitions. My photographs have appeared in The Hartford Courant newspaper, The Sun Sentinel newspaper, and Connecticut Magazine. I was a principle contributor to three editions, five years apart, of the book, "Hartford, New England's Rising Star." Sixty-four of my photographs, including the front cover photograph, appear in the current book, entitled, "Hartford: Photographic Moments of the People, Places, and Lives in Our Region." A book by Joseph Meehan about capturing motion and time in photography, includes three of my photographs. Several banks and businesses, in Windsor and Bloomfield, Connecticut, have my photographs on permanent display. Also, the Medical School of the University of Connecticut, in Farmington, Connecticut, has my photographs on permanent display in several locations. Five of my tobacco scene photographs are in the permanent collection of the William Benton Museum of Art of the University of Connecticut, at Storrs, Connecticut. Also, seven of my photographs are in the permanent collection of the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut. I was recently included in an exhibition of photographs in its collection. I have had many acceptances in the highly juried annual exhibition of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and I was awarded the photography prize in 2008 and also in 2012. For three years I served as president of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. For the past twelve years I have spent winters in Florida where I volunteer as the events photographer for the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach. The town of Windsor makes extensive use of my photography in its publications. Thirty-five of my seasonal photographs have been used, three each year, for the covers of its publication, "There's A Lot To Do In Windsor." A hotel at the airport in Windsor Locks has used some of my photographs in its rooms. The Windsor Historical Society displays my shade tobacco imagery. During February, 2010, my landscape images were in an exhibition, along with the paintings of Paul Batch, at the Gallery, in Blue Back Square, of the West Hartford Art League. The exhibition was entitled, "Two Views." In the Fall of 2010 fifteen of my farms and barns images were included in an exhibition at the Flinn Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut. In 2012, I was the recipient of five awards: three in separate exhibitions of the Essex Art Association, one from the West Hartford Art League, and one, as noted above, from the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts in its annual exhibition. Further references to my photography may be found by placing my name into Google or any other search engine. In May, 2013, I was awarded an Essex Art Association award. In June, in another Essex exhibition, I again received an award.
